As a San Diego family photographer, one of my favorite parts of the job is helping families feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. For this family of three, that transformation was beautiful to witness. Mom admitted she was a little nervous and worried about feeling awkward—but from the first few minutes at Shelter Island, the laughter, connection, and warmth came through naturally.

We met at Shelter Island, one of my favorite hidden gems for family sessions in San Diego. With waterfront views, open walkways, and colorful florals, it offers the perfect mix of peaceful and picturesque.
